Phobias

Specific phobias take many forms: fear of animals or insects; fear of certain situations e.g. flying, lifts; fear of thunder, heights; fear of needles, infection. The list is virtually endless. About 10% of the population suffer with a specific phobia at some point. Phobias usually persist because the situation which causes so much fear and distress is avoided. Your fear may in some ways seem ridiculous to you whilst seriously interfering with your life.

Combining logic with imagination along with other strategies I use a CBT approach combined with hypnosis to enable you to start facing your fear with confidence and safety, initially in the therapy room and then in your life. You'll learn what it means to feel truly relaxed and empowered and acquire strategies you can take with you to apply more generally in your life. In a sense, overcoming your phobia is a retraining of your mind and body - a reconditioning of your nervous system. What has been learned can be unlearned!
